Schools and youth groups

Malta that does not bore a seventeen-year-old

School trips, language camps and youth travel. A programme with movement, water and history you can tell in fifteen minutes.

8-day programme
Multi-bed rooms
Places for supervisors
Communication workshops

A school trip has two audiences at once: the young people, who must not be bored, and the supervisors, who need to sleep at night. Those two things are not in conflict — provided the day is planned and the evenings are not accidental.

Malta helps. Everything is close, transfers are short, and the history here is physical — bastions, the walls of Mdina and cliffs you can walk up to. Add the sea, a water park, and weather that allows a day in the water for half the year.

The programme — eight days

A week built so that a day on the coach always sits beside a day by the water — and so the group’s energy has somewhere to go. Days are re-ordered to suit the age of the group, the budget and the character of the trip.

Day 1

ARRIVAL AND WELCOME

Flight to Malta and transfer from the airport to the hotel. Check-in, welcome and a short run-through of the week. Time for a walk along the Qawra seafront. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2

VALLETTA – RABAT – MDINA – DINGLI CLIFFS

A full day across the best of the island. We begin in Valletta — a UNESCO capital built by the Knights of Malta — with the Barrakka Gardens over the Grand Harbour, the bastions and the narrow streets running down to the sea.

Then Mdina, the former capital known as the Silent City. No traffic inside the walls; just sandstone façades, narrow lanes and a view over half the island. Beside it, Rabat, the town that grew up outside Mdina’s gate.

We finish at the Dingli Cliffs — the highest point of Malta, nearly two hundred metres above the sea, looking out over the open Mediterranean and the uninhabited islet of Filfla. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3

GOLDEN BAY

A day by the water. Golden Bay is Malta’s finest sandy beach, on the north-west coast between high red cliffs.

Time to swim, sunbathe and rest, with an optional scenic walk over to neighbouring Għajn Tuffieħa. Return to the hotel in the afternoon, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4

COMINO AND THE BLUE LAGOON

A cruise to Comino, the smallest inhabited island of the archipelago. The destination is the Blue Lagoon: a narrow channel between Comino and the islet of Cominotto where the water lies over white sand and turns an unreal turquoise.

Swimming, snorkelling and time on the boat, which stays with the group all day — shaded deck, fresh-water showers and a bar. An optional walk over to Santa Marija Bay. Return in the afternoon, dinner and overnight stay.

Cruises to Comino run from May to November. Outside the season we substitute another day rather than dropping one.

Day 5

GOZO

A full day on Gozo, Malta’s greener and quieter sister island, reached by ferry with Comino in view along the way.

The day takes in Victoria with the Cittadella towering over the whole island, a panoramic route, and a stop above Ramla Bay with its distinctive red sand. We finish in Xlendi, a charming town on a turquoise, fjord-shaped bay.

A separate coach and driver wait for the group on Gozo, so no time is lost queueing for the vehicle deck. Return by ferry, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6

SPLASH & FUN WATER PARK

A day at the Splash & Fun water park on the north-east coast at Baħar iċ-Čagħaq. Slides, pools, a zone for younger children and plenty of room to burn off energy.

This is the day the group waits for all week — and the one where the supervisors get their breath back. Return to the hotel in the afternoon, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7

FREE DAY

A day with no programme. Time for the beach, the hotel pool, shopping and souvenirs, or the group’s own plans. We are happy to suggest what is worth seeing independently. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8

DEPARTURE

Breakfast and transfer to the airport, timed to your actual flight. End of the stay.

Educational programme · optional

Communication and negotiation for 14–18 year olds

A week in Malta can be more than a trip. Together with St Mary’s Institute Malta we offer youth groups a workshop programme with a single aim: to teach young people to use their own voice.

This is not an English course — English is the tool here, not the subject. The subject is how to talk, how to listen, how to disagree and how to reach agreement.

Speak and be heard

Say what you think, calmly and clearly, without raising your voice — including when the rest of the room disagrees.

Really listen

Active listening, and the ability to see the matter through the other person’s eyes before answering.

Disagree with respect

A difference of opinion need not become a row. How to argue and still leave the conversation on good terms.

Solve problems by talking

Conflict as a problem to be solved, not a duel to be won.

Negotiate

Reaching an agreement where both sides gain something — practised in real simulations.

Find your feet among strangers

Working in an international group, in English, alongside peers from other countries and cultures.

The sessions are workshops: exercises in pairs and groups, role plays, discussions and negotiation simulations — no lectures and no desks. They are held in English, so participants need at least B1. The programme can also be adapted for university students, teachers and professional groups.

For the organiser it means a trip that is easier to justify to a head teacher and to parents: the group comes home not only with photographs of the Blue Lagoon but with a skill. We combine it with accommodation, transfers and the sightseeing programme in one offer — one quotation, one contact.

What teachers and organisers ask us

Supervisors

The number of free places for supervisors is agreed at quotation stage — tell us how many travel and at what pupil numbers.

Rooms

Triples and quads for the young people, singles or twins for supervisors, always on the same floor as the group.

Safety in the water

Swimming only at supervised places and at agreed times, with supervisors present. On the boat and in the water park, the operator’s rules apply.

Evenings

Planned, not accidental: dinner at the hotel, a group evening, a walk along the promenade. Lights-out agreed with the supervisors.

Budget

A school trip is counted to the last euro. Give us your ceiling per person and we will build the programme inside it rather than quoting dreams.

Language camps

We work with local English language schools — lessons in the morning, programme in the afternoon. Ask for a combined quotation.

Send us your next Malta group

Give us the dates, the pax count and the flight numbers and we will send back a net quotation with a day-by-day programme. No account to open, no minimum volume, no commitment on the first group.
